In the new year the quilt group that I go to on a Wednesday have been set a challenge by Wendy. We have had to exchange 3 co-ordinating fat quarters and the challenge is to transform them into something. The date set for this is January 6th. I am busy working on something that will be revealed later. I hope that it works out ok as I don't have a pattern and that the receiver likes it. Watch this space.

The weather outside is very dreary. Whilst parts of the country are getting snow we have cold, miserable rain. It is so grey out there.

Usually, we can see the beautiful Quantock Hills. Not today. As you can see, just grey. On the bright side, we have had the shortest day so the days should be getting longer. Right.

Take care.

First Public Airing

Hello Everyone,
Here it is at last. Please bear with me while I get the hang of this blogging lark. Anyone that knows me will know that I eat, sleep and breathe needlework related things so, hopefully, I will get to show you just what I get up to.

This past year I have been keeping a monthly list of things to do and then crossing them off as they have been done. Some with great satisfaction I may add but, more often than not, there is not enough month and not enough ticks. Must try harder next year.

I have been following with interest postings from various blogs of the lovely baskets quilt from Blackbird Designs and the book When The Cold Wind Blows. Here is my first offering - only 299 to go

I have made a bet with my daughter Sarah that I will finish it for this time next year!! Watch this space.

Last week at my patchwork group, Apple County Quilters we had a secret santa and this is what I made. I loved it and I think Juliet was pleased with it too. Not such a secret santa as she knew I had made it.

May have to make another for myself. The pattern and tutorial came from Flower Garden blog.
