Rosemary was adding to her Grandmother's Flower Garden. I always love the fabrics that Rosemary chooses because they are pretty and summery and leave you feeling good. Essential this time of the year when we have had constant rain. Poor old Somerset is drowning in the stuff yet again.
Margaret is busy finishing the binding to a quilt which means a project almost complete. You can see a little bit of Margaret's knitted jacket that she had made and was wearing. Very nice it was too. May have to add that one to my growing list of things to do at some point.
Kate was contemplating clamshells over a cup of coffee. No quick way of making them. Whichever method you use you still have to do some prep but Kate is very skilled at making them and before long they will be prepped and stitched.
Having got to a stage that I could go no further out came the hexagons and item 10 on the list. Anyone sensible would probably start with number 1 but I hate being sensible and predictable and besides, the box was handy to bring. Playing around with the layout and now I can add a row of cream. Apologies for the dark photo. I will learn to take decent photo's one day.
We had a lovely day. One of our dear companions Pat was missing as she was not very well. If you are reading this Pat hope you are feeling better. We missed you.
Till next time.
Happy Stitching
Shirley.
Lovely to see what you are all working on. The heart cushion is gorgeous, lucky friend!! What size are your hexies...they look little... ? Maybe you could turn your list sideways or upside down from time to time so that you feel that you are working from it in order?!
ReplyDeletelots of beautiful projects.
ReplyDeleteLove your hexie project, that would be a winner for me to do too. I don't think it matters as long as you are working from your list?
What a sweet gift you are making for your lucky friend. Love the hexagons and the cream between really makes it come alive. Don't worry about your photos - most of mine need a lot of light adjustment on the computer! And you can attack that list any which way you like ;)
ReplyDeleteHilda
Lots of lovely Show & Tell there Shirley, thanks for sharing and pleased you are sort of sticking to the list.....
ReplyDeleteI love the background fabric of your new project. Looks mostly taupe in the photograph which I find very versatile. New projects don't have to be on any lists when they will soon be gifted. ; D
ReplyDeleteHexies are perfect takealong projects. Why would you start with #1? I certainly wouldn't expect it!
Pretty projects all round......
ReplyDeleteLove your pretty floral hexie backgrounds.
A very industrious day! Lovely hearts Shirley.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful work by everyone. Seeing a few hearts around lately, Valentine's day must be approaching.
ReplyDeleteIt was lovely to come along with you and see what everyone was working on. I love your hexies!
ReplyDeleteLovely!!! And why saying you're not sensible starting with number 10... That is brilliant my dear...because you wanted to make that one...then it's more likely that it gets done than sitting and sighing over having to do number one ...;0)) you are smart!! Have to learn by you there! :0)) love to see all your progress...let's hope the rest of 2014 will keep on like this...and Shirley...hope to find a lot more on number 13...;0))
ReplyDeleteSome lovely work happening and I am sure you cushion will be lovely and a very special gift. I think it is great to have your project organised so that you can just grab the one that suits the occasion and conditions and I also think 13 can be a lucky number. Hope you have not been washed away and I am thinking of you here in tropical wet Cairns. Take care.
ReplyDeleteSo nice to have a group of friends to get together and stitch with! What a relaxing day you've had, stitching and visiting and admiring each other's work :)
ReplyDeleteLots of lovely things going on here. The cushion will be a very special gift.
